At the House of RavenStone we believe that training in the Old Religion requires a person to person interaction where teachers can closely monitor students’ progress and students can observe the Old Ways through real world experiences. We do not provide long distance or correspondence courses. Those who complete the Introductory Seminar and wish to pursue an in-depth study of the Old Religion are formed into classes that meet once a month, usually on a Sunday afternoon, at our Covenstead. While we recognize that travel to the Covenstead may pose a difficulty to some seekers and limit the number of participants, we feel that this is the only way to insure the integrity of our teachings and provide accurate instruction in our tradition.
Core classes taught by initiated members of the House of RavenStone are separated by periodic review classes with Lady Larina and Lord Gaelin, our High Priestess and High Priest, and will take at least a year and a day to complete. Homework assignments will require study, research, and introspection. Classes are dynamic and students are encouraged to take them multiple times. While the heart and soul of the material does not change, we strive to incorporate modern teaching techniques, current media resources, and contemporary examples and situations to enhance our curriculum. Participation in regular RavenStone rituals while attending classes is not mandatory, but is strongly suggested as these rituals provide a practicum for the ideas presented in class.
Our Seminary program consists of thirteen classes covering:

Upon completion of the classes, the student is able to make a balanced and considered decision about whether or not to seek initiation to become a priest or priestess of the Old Religion. Please note: initiation is neither mandatory nor automatic. Each candidate is considered on an individual basis by the High Priestess and High Priest in consultation with the RavenStone initiate body. RavenStone Seminary will not under any circumstance instruct students under the age of 18 without written and verified parental consent and parents are encouraged to jointly attend classes.
